Proposed development at Dearden Clough

Yet another planning application for a housing development at Dearden Clough has been submitted to Rossendale Borough Council. Many residents in Edenfield are opposed to the development on the grounds of:-

  1. - risk of subsidence and damage to properties due to demolition and/or building works
  2. - highway safety regarding proposed access onto Bury Road
  3. - flood risk to proposed development land
  4. - impact on current bus stop sighting
  5. - restrictions to established rights of way
  6. - adverse impact on wildlife
  7. - un-intentioned expansion of village

Details of the proposals can be found at http://www.rossendale.gov.uk/applications or viewed at Development Control. First Floor. Room 119-121 The Business Centre. Futures Park. Bacup. OL13 0BB. Tel: 01706 238639 . The reference number is 2013/0103

In addition to the many residents who object to this application, support is being sought from local councillors Anne Cheetham and Darryl Smith, MP Jake Berry and a number of environmental groups. The Edenfield Village Residents Association (EVRA) have also submitted its objections to the application.

It is important the at the Planning Committee fully understand the strength of objection  from village residents and those who do not support this application are urged to submit their objections in writing or by email to Development Control at the above address as soon as possible.

An extension of time for responses has been secured until Wednesday 24th April 2013.
